Football spread betting - other markets
There are a number of other markets on
which it is possible to make spread bets:
Goal Scorers Shirt Numbers
The aggregate number of shirt numbers for all the goal
scorers (both sides) in a match.
Total Bookings
Also known as the booking index, this is a wager on
how many red or yellow cards the referee will show during
a match.
The scoring system is calculated by allocating points
for each type of card shown. The points allocated may
vary from one spread bet firm to another.
e.g.
10 points for a yellow card (maximum one per player)
25 points for a red card
Remember that if a player receives two yellow cards
then this effectively counts as a red card for which
the player will receive a total of thirty five points.
Time of 1st Goal
This is a simple bet on how many minutes will elapse
before the first goal is scored
The maximum make-up is 90 minutes (injury time, extra
time and penalties do not count).
Win Index
This spread relates to the final outcome of the game.
i.e. win, lose or a draw?
The scoring system is devised by allocating points
for each result. The points allocated may vary from
one spread bet firm to another but will usually look
something like:
25 points if a team wins
10 points for each team if they draw
0 points if a team loses
Total Goal Minutes
This spread relates to the total aggregate time of
all goals scored during the game. For example, goals
scored in the 77th and 83rd minute would result in a
make up of 160 total goal minutes.
This is a very volatile sports market and care should
be taken when placing bets. Unless you are wagering
small amounts, it is not a bet that should be undertaken
without sufficient funds to cover ones potential losses.
